This is the start of a webpage telling the stories of the early pioneers who formed the Town of Laton.  I will be including the stories and photos of those families who were so important to Laton's beginnings.  I will attempt to start with this page then as I receive additional stories, I will include an index and add to it as people send me their families' stories.    Some of the immediate names that I'm planning to include are the Vaughns, Fikes, Dooleys, Lopez and Pierce families  I'm starting the Vaughn page with a story written by the youngest daughter of that family.  Her name was Marilla Vaughn Bailey.  I have a DVD with her brother, Lester, telling the story of their family and others leaving Nebraska and Kansas to start a new life in Laton.   Click on the name you want to read about.   Soon, her story and others will be on another page but for now, I just want to get started with her story.
